Today's class started off like any other day, with scholars talking to each other and some We started off the day with our poem, as we do everyday. This time, Ms. Witham wanted us to emphasize our words in"We Wear the Mask" to make the poem stronger. We also introduced a new poem titled "The Eagle" by Alfred Lord Tennyson. After we read both poems, it was time to read the blog and select the next blogger, which ended up to be me.

Once we were done with our daily routine, Ms. Witham explained what we were going to do for the rest of class. With our literature circle groups, we started the final project which consists of two illustrations and plot rollercoasters. there is also an illustration to have as the cover of the project. Each scholar in a group must have a dialectic journal to add to the project. When Ms. Witham completed giving scholars directions, everyone rushed to the Student Resource Center to grab sheets of paper to start the project.

After scholars settled who has what role, Ms. Witham started to explain what was going on after school during Parent Conferences. Scholars are to bring their notebooks to the conference so that parents can see their progress. We topped off the day with Writing Workshop for students who need time to start or finish their Autobiographical Narrative in a quiet place. Scholars were also able to make progress in their books.

Afterward, Ms Witham explains that UC applications has new prompts, instead of writing two essays, the requirement asks that four smaller essays are written, and that these prompts may help scholars spark an idea that they can use in their AN. Scholars start working on their AN Brainstorming. Once done brainstorming individually, scholars share their ideas while Ms.Witham collects the Young MovieMaker application and returns the first autobiography that scholars have written.

Axel's First Blog

Agenda
  1. Review Autobiographical Narrative guidelines + example
  2. L.C. Work time
Homework
  1. Rough Draft of Auto. Narr. due Thurs.
Once we walk into class, we sit down and start reading the poems we're meant to memorize. When we're done, a dude with dreads talks about a program at Mark Twain MS that lets us volunteer to teach students about film making and how to make movies. He then makes awkward conversation to Ms.Witham about a poem.
When he leaves, we start going over Yuwan and Reyna's blog. I mouth to Reyna to let me be blogger because I get bored just sitting down. I get on and I start struggling with the tab button and somehow end up erasing my first draft of my blog. I'm a genius.
Ms.Witham tells us to take out our AN guidelines and starts reading Coastline Cruiser about a girl and her overly descriptive story about riding a paddle board. I mean, she could've said "I rode my surfboard on a six foot wave and it was awesome." But no, she had to go into detail and talk about the suede sand and the board being a horse. Too much detail for my taste. After that she asks us to talk to our group about what we notice about the narrative. Then we start giving examples of things that stood out in the narrative.
Ms.Witham starts going over the guidelines for our AN and tells us to make our RD on lined paper, then make a revised edition in Google Docs in MLA format. We volunteer to read different guidelines.
We run out of time and Ms.Witham suggests that we shouldn't read the blog because that takes too much of our time.

As soon as we came into the classroom we started with SSR for a couple of minutes. Then, as a class we went over the Plot Rollercoaster handout sheet. People who  were chosen by Ms. Witham were asked to read sections of the handout. While people were reading Ms. Witham was highlighting the important parts of the handout to scholars and giving them examples of books with similar plots. In the handout the section that has the resolution she gave us another word for the resolution being denouement. Scholars copied Ms. Witham while she set up her Rollercoaster project diagram and explained it thoroughly.
In our L.C. groups, people discussed the plot of the book they are reading. While, taking notes Ms. Witham showed an example of a Rollercoaster diagram of the book Mice and Men. Ms. Witham passed out the Auto Bio Narrative Essay Guidelines sheet to people. She asked us to read the handout on our own, but she'll go over it with us on Monday. Goodbye.

That's when Shashine picked me as the blogger and as I got up Ms.Witham told me, "You got this."

Then we started the literature circle and Ms.Witham checked the rest of the Dialectic Journals. Afterward, we discussed how the literature circle went and Ms.Witham explained our project and the plot rollercoaster. Lastly, we ended the class as the bell rang and everyone went to period six.

Then, we began reading the book that we chose in groups called literature circles. Ms. Witham asked if anyone has not gotten their WNB graded, if not they should turn it in. Right after that, the people that are playing water polo had to leave the class.

After we read for the time that was set for us, Ms. Witham asked us to discuss within our reading circle about what we read so far. Then, the bell rang.

I had been chosen to be the new blogger. It wasn't click bait what so ever! I was so happy and couldn't wait to start!  http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/trollpasta/images/f/fc/Keemstar.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20160620122241 Ms. Witham demanded that everyone stayed on task on either picking books or finishing our essay while remaining silent. No one listened. I really wish people had some respeck. Instead people talked about the clown epidemic or where on Instagram looking at the iconic legend that is Harambe.

Suddenly a loud bang soared all through out the class. It was Nathan. He had fallen and couldn't get up. Probably in the need of some milk. I looked up and saw the most impressive thing I had ever seen. It was Axel's face starting at me. I honestly didn't mind. Looking at Axel was like looking into the depth of the universe. So much mystery and life. As the bell was seconds from ringing I was filled with excitement. I couldn't wait to get home and see if Scarce had double uploaded.
